I've been away

by Ben_Musgrave @ 29/06/2007 - 18:25:55

Yes so if you're a regular reader you'll probably have noticed I've been away for ages. No terrible calamity befell me, I just got very very busy all of a sudden - a collection of things including the FIRST WEEK OF REHEARSALS (more another time), READING THE PROOFS of the playtext, LOOKING FOR A PLACE TO LIVE (which finally seems to have sorted itself out with a surprising Royal Exchange-related connection), MY DRIVING TEST (which is tomorrow), MY OTHER PLAY (more another time), DOING LOADS OF SCRIPT REPORTS (for the Rep's 'Write Live' attachment scheme), SEEING LOADS OF PLAYS (including 7 brilliant hours of Angels in America on tuesday), and LIFE, GENERALLY seemed to take priority.
The fourth week of rehearsal begins on monday, so hopefully I'll have a chance to catch up more fully before then.
But thanks for sticking with me.

Right on,

I want to see the Kushner play too. Stoppard had a play on at the Lincoln Centre that lasted 12 hours, another playwright had a play on that lasted a week, with little tweaks in the storyline for each performance, leading to a very different ending. If a story is worth telling once, it's worth telling again, or so the line goes.
I'm writing like a tired old hag. Words. A living made from words. And what if the chassey falls out? And you're driving through life like Fred Flintstone in his rockmobile? And your hairy fucking legs are getting knackered? The lactic acid is about to explode, and all you need to keep going are more words, but the body says no, no more, I must give up, and bam-bam on your right shoulder is balling her eyes out, and Wilma says she can't hack it anymore...
did you pass the driving test?
